• General Development Resume: Position/Objective

DESIRED POSITION:       Mid-Level Developer

Development in Java EE or lightweight frameworks using Websphere or other containers.

I have been independent contracting since 2003, primarily with Dixie Building Products Inc., which has brought a whole range of experience including in depth knowledge of e-commerce platform deployment and customization, Ebay auction and marketing, search engine optimization in site design and marketing, Google AdWords campaign management and optimization, ROI tracking, and an in depth knowledge of supply chain, profit centers, and marketing related to a particular industry – gas products.

Experience from 2000-2003 includes primarily J2EE on Websphere. Additional projects completed in Coldfusion, ASP3, and PHP4/PHP5. The past 11 years of design and development have brought not just technical knowledge but the translation of business process into business and functional logic to achieve the desired outcomes for customers and stakeholders in the application development process. I have been involved in all configurations of teams from projects completed by myself, end-to-end, to senior developer on a ten member application, to a member of a sub-team of a 200 member staff on a government contract, and feel completely comfortable anywhere in between. I have significant experience with estimates, cost planning, solutions architecture, DBA design and maintenance, client-server/web interface integration, user interfaces, graphics, and branding design and development. Initial experience at roanoke.com brought significant customer relationship expertise with design and development on hundreds of small web sites.

My focus during my undergraduate degree concentrated on planning in the Department of Urban Affairs and City Planning of Virginia Tech. It affords me an extensive knowledge of planning and development principles, comprehensive planning, zoning, government policy and program research and development, stakeholder management and political ramifications of policy, resource allocation and environmental impact planning in both the government and private sector. Some of my coursework and work experience included Environmental Policy, Environmental Planning, Community Involvement, Raster and Vector GIS, Public and Campus Comprehensive Planning and Public Utilities Planning, State and Federal Public Finance, and a variety of Public Policy courses. The minors in Organic Chemistry and Political Science (International and Foreign Policy) augment my environmental and policy studies.
